The Deadline
What's Changing
The government has changed the rules. Here’s what it means.

The 30% Residential Tax Credit Is Ending
The Residential Clean Energy Credit (also known as the 30% solar tax credit) will be eliminated for homeowner-owned systems starting January 1, 2026.
You must be installed by December 31, 2025 to receive any tax credit.

Ownership Options Are Disappearing
After this year, homeowners may lose access to ownership-based solar plans. Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and leases will dominate — limiting long-term savings and control.
Leasing solar systems may be your only option if you wait.

Material Shortages Are Coming
New U.S. manufacturing rules are causing delays and supply constraints across the industry — especially for panels and inverters. This will only get worse as the deadline nears.
The longer you wait, the harder it will be to get installed in time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? You’re not alone. From solar panel coordination to roofing warranties, here are the answers homeowners ask us most.
Is it already too late?
Not yet. Everlast is one of the only companies with in-house crews and timelines fast enough to finish before year-end. But spots are filling fast.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
You’ll no longer be eligible for the 30% federal tax credit. You may be offered a lease or PPA instead, which means you don’t own your system or capture full long-term savings.
What is PTO and why does it matter?
PTO stands for Permission to Operate. Your system must be installed by 12/31/25 and not fully turned on or PTO/grid-connected.
What if I already talked to someone or booked before?
Perfect. Let’s revisit your plan and make sure you’re locked in before the deadline. No need to start from scratch.
